FREIBOND SW1 is a high quality low temperature combination cleaner and iron phosphate coating chemical for steel primarily applied by spray. FREIBOND SW1is designed to both clean the substrate surface and simultaneously impart a uniform coating excellent for bonding paint. The unique surfactant package provides superior cleaning performance, and is very low foaming. FREIBOND SW1 IS DESIGNED TO BE USED IN DIRECT SPRAY APPLICATION WITHOUT THE NEED TO ADJUST THE PH.
High quality low temperature combination cleaner and iron phosphate coating chemical for steel primarily applied by spray wand. FREIBOND SW1 is designed to both clean the substrate surface and simultaneously impart a uniform coating excellent for bonding paint. FREIBOND SW1 IS DESIGNED TO BE USED IN DIRECT SPRAY APPLICATION WITHOUT THE NEED TO ADJUST THE PH
FREIBOND SW1 is designed to be spray applied at 2-6% (3-4% typical) by volume in direct spray
applications (steam genie, heated pressure washers, etc.) without the need to adjust the pH of the neat material.
Stainless steel, mild steel, and high temperature acid resistant plastics are suitable for processing equipment. Spray pressures should be maintained at 15-20 psig for optimum coating. Spray pressure above 20 psig will create inconsistencies and voids in the iron phosphate coating.
Utilization of deionized or reverse osmosis water in the system will reduce both chemical
consumption and sludge generation. Application equipment should be cleaned to remove sludge and scale deposits that may interfere with application and subsequent performance.
FREIBOND SW1 may be preceded by an appropriate FREICLEAN product followed by a rinse stage but is not required. After treatment with FREIBOND SW1 the surface should be rinsed and optionally followed
by a FREICON seal product for adhesion promotion.
Paint Pretreatment, Cleaning
The Freibond and Freibond D series are zinc and iron phosphate generating products primarily used as a paint base for subsequent paint finishes. The coatings provide excellent adhesion to the base metal and subsequently increase corrosion resistance of the paint. While primarily designed for spray application, some of these products work equally well by immersion. Other applications include their use as a base for rubber bonding and as a lubricant carrier in the cold forming of steel.
