FREICLEAN ABL-2 is an acidic cleaner/brightener developed specifically for Aluminum substrates.
FREICLEAN ABL-2 is designed for immersion applications and is a liquid material for ease of handling.
Fill the process tank to the two-thirds level with water and add the required concentration of FREICLEAN ABL-2 with stirring. Bring the bath up to operating temperature and level.
Concentration can range from 5 to 30% by volume depending on the severity of the oxide and the amount of cleaning time available.
Temperature can range from ambient to 170°F with process times normally in the range of 30 seconds to 30 minutes.
The concentration of the FREICLEAN ABL-2 solution may be determined by the following method:
Pipet a 1 ml sample of the solution to be tested into a 125 ml Erlenmeyer flask or suitable beaker and add 5-10 drops of Indicating Solution 11 (Bromophenol Blue) and titrate with Testing Solution 11 (0.1 N NaOH) to a blue-green endpoint (absence of yellow). Record the buret reading as the Free Acid.
