Clear

FORMLUBE 25 is a non-reactive, liquid cold forming lubricant designed to provide lubrication during a swaging operation. FORMLUBE 25 may be used on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Depending on the severity of the operation, FORMLUBE 25 may be used “as is” or diluted with water to provide varying amounts of coating. Dilutions are typically in the range of 1 part FORMLUBE 25 to 1 part water up to 1 part FORMLUBE 25 in 10 parts water. Parts are then
dipped at ambient temperature and then extruded.

Testing is not normally required. With experience, the correct concentration may be determined visually as proper viscosity is more important than absolute concentration. An easy method of checking viscosity is by using a Zahn cup. This apparatus is simply a metal cup with a hole in the bottom and is commonly used to check the viscosity of paints. The time it takes to empty a #2 Zahn cup is determined using the proper lubricant dilution.
